What is the Annual Recertification
Federal rules require that all Lifeline subscribers re-certify each year on a rolling basis. The deadline is generally one year from date that you began receiving Lifeline service. The recertification allows phone companies to verify that customers continue to qualify for Lifeline service by participating in a qualifying program or based on their income.
In addition to completing the recertification, subscribers in Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, and Wisconsin are required to submit a copy of eligibility documentation. (Some subscribers in Missouri may also need to provide proof.) See more information on providing documentation below.
Once you complete your recertification, your Lifeline service will be automatically renewed for an additional year.
